“From 2017-2022 I was part of Delta Hockey Academy, playing on several teams including U15, U15 Prep Green, Elite 15, U17 Prep, & U18 Prep. One of my favourite memories from DHA was the road trips. I enjoyed the freedom of travelling with my teammates and the opportunity to compete against new teams in new places.
Beyond hockey, DHA played an important role in shaping who I am today. Through my experience at the academy, I learned how to handle adversity, find my role within a team, and understand that being a valuable teammate isn’t always about standing out, but about consistently doing my job to the best of my ability. One lesson that continues to guide me today is that hard work, humility, and kindness earn respect from others, regardless of skill, talent, or status.
My time as a student-athlete helped prepare me for the demands of university, teaching me how to manage a heavier academic workload while taking responsibility for my own success and staying motivated. These are skills I continue to rely on throughout my post-secondary journey.
I am currently attending the University of British Columbia (UBC), studying Engineering Physics. One of the most rewarding parts of my university experience so far was helping my team place second out of 16 teams in our program’s autonomous robot competition this summer. Contributing to the project and being part of the team’s success was an especially rewarding experience. Looking ahead, I hope to pursue a career in robotics engineering, continuing to build on my technical knowledge and problem-solving skills as I work towards my future goals.”
